The  installation of reverse cycle air-conditioning of the Hall to increase community attendance & private hire opportunities during the heat of summer & wintery days.

Our heartfelt thanks to Gympie Regional Council, Queensland Sport and Recreation, Energex & Powerlink Queensland Community Grant Funding for making this possible.

Future-proofing the 104-year-old Glastonbury Hall with a renewable energy solution is complete. These grants enabled an electrical upgrade of the pole-mounted meter panel, switchboard & mains, to accommodate the installation of solar power & metering changes and be compliant with Australian energy standards. The solar panels will energy consumption and combat rapidly rising energy costs due to vastly increased community events & private hires.

Our Glastonbury Hall Kitchen Expansion is now ready to host your next event!

Thanks to your fabulous community support, we have weddings, celebrations, birthdays, baby showers, awards nights, Pilates & wellness class, art workshops, music groups, workshops (and more) holding their events at Glastonbury Hall this year. 

This much needed modernisation IS DESIGNED TO FUTURE PROOF OURCOMMNITY HALL to be transformed into a fully functional disaster hub and/or place of refuge during emergency situations for years to come.

This modernisation was made possible by the generosity of community grants from Gambling Community Benefit Fund, FRRR Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal, Suncorp Foundation, NAB Foundation & Gympie Regional Council Community Facilities Grant for preparedness as a future disaster hub as well as a venue that everyone could be proud of, to whom our entire community are extremely grateful for. 

Plus enormous thanks to all our superhuman local tradies & suppliers for making it work!!

The Glastonbury Hall & Recreation (GHRA)is a not-for-profit organisation that has been servicing the community since the early 1900s. The Glastonbury Hall was originally built in 1920. Incorporated in 1993, it is now the central hub for the Glastonbury community and surrounding residents to gather, unite and engage in a range of regular social events and activities for all age groups, cultures and abilities.

Located 15 minutes from the Queensland township of Gympie, our Glastonbury Hall is a beacon for community celebrations (and reflections) including hosting weddings. birthday parties, memorial services and regular community get-togethers, fundraising balls and social events.
